NSDL Payments Bank AEPS Now LIVE on NearPoint

Published on: 15 June 2026

NearPoint is pleased to announce that NSDL Payments Bank AEPS is now LIVE on the NearPoint platform.

With this service now available, eligible NearPoint Retailers can provide a wider range of Aadhaar-enabled banking services to customers directly from their retail outlets.

The addition of NSDL Payments Bank AEPS further expands the financial services available through NearPoint and gives retailers more opportunities to serve the everyday banking requirements of customers in their local communities.

What is AEPS?

AEPS, or Aadhaar Enabled Payment System, is an Aadhaar-based banking service that enables eligible customers to access supported banking facilities using their Aadhaar-linked bank account and biometric authentication.

AEPS can make basic banking services more accessible through authorised retail points, particularly for customers who prefer assisted banking services close to their homes or workplaces.

For retailers, it provides an opportunity to add banking services to their existing digital service portfolio.

NSDL Payments Bank AEPS is Now LIVE on NearPoint

From 15 June 2026, eligible NearPoint Retailers can access NSDL Payments Bank AEPS through the NearPoint platform.

Depending on retailer eligibility, service availability and applicable terms, the available services may include:

  • Cash Withdrawal
  • Cash Deposit
  • Aadhaar Pay
  • Balance Enquiry
  • Mini Statement
  • Aadhaar-based Banking Transactions
  • Biometric Authentication

The availability of specific services, transaction limits, charges, settlement and other conditions may vary according to service provider policies, regulatory requirements and retailer eligibility.

Cash Withdrawal

Cash Withdrawal is one of the key services associated with AEPS.

Eligible customers can use an authorised AEPS point to access supported cash withdrawal facilities from their Aadhaar-linked bank account, subject to applicable transaction limits and requirements.

For retailers, this service can help meet an important everyday banking requirement for customers who prefer to use a nearby service point.

Cash Deposit

With Cash Deposit support, eligible customers may be able to deposit cash through an authorised service point into a supported account, subject to service availability and applicable rules.

This provides another useful banking facility for customers and expands the range of financial services that retailers can offer from their outlets.

Cash Deposit availability and transaction conditions may vary depending on the applicable service configuration and eligibility.

Aadhaar Pay

Aadhaar Pay enables eligible customers to make supported payments using Aadhaar-based biometric authentication.

The service can provide a convenient payment option where Aadhaar Pay is supported and available.

For retailers, adding Aadhaar Pay to their service offering can help them provide customers with another digital payment facility directly from their outlet.

Aadhaar Pay transactions must always be processed through the authorised platform and according to the applicable service provider and regulatory requirements.

Balance Enquiry and Mini Statement

Customers may also be able to access basic account information through supported AEPS services.

Balance Enquiry can help customers check the available balance of their supported bank account, while Mini Statement can provide information about recent account transactions.

These services can be particularly useful for customers who need quick access to basic banking information without visiting a traditional bank branch.

Banking Services Closer to Customers

Access to financial services is increasingly becoming part of the local retail environment.

A nearby retailer can often provide customers with a convenient point for accessing everyday digital and banking services.

By bringing NSDL Payments Bank AEPS to NearPoint, eligible retailers can provide a broader range of supported services from their existing business locations.

This can make the retailer more useful to the local community while giving customers another convenient option for accessing financial services.

More Services for NearPoint Retailers

Retailers today are no longer limited to traditional shop-based services. Digital payments, bill payments, recharge services and financial services have become an important part of the modern retail environment.

With NSDL Payments Bank AEPS available through NearPoint, eligible retailers can expand their service portfolio with multiple banking facilities.

These services can help retailers:

  • Serve more customer requirements from one location
  • Expand their existing digital service offering
  • Provide convenient local banking access
  • Build stronger relationships with regular customers
  • Create additional business opportunities
  • Use one platform for multiple retailer services

The goal is to make everyday service delivery more convenient for both retailers and their customers.

Security and Responsible Use

Financial services require responsible handling of customer information and authentication.

Retailers should ensure that transactions are processed only with the customer's knowledge and consent.

Biometric authentication should be used only for the authorised transaction for which it is required.

Retailers should never request or store unnecessary confidential customer information. Customers should also never share sensitive credentials such as passwords, ATM PINs or other confidential banking information with anyone.

Every transaction should be checked carefully before completion, and retailers should follow all applicable security, compliance and operational requirements.

One Platform for Multiple Digital Services

NearPoint is designed to bring multiple digital and financial services together for retailers.

With NSDL Payments Bank AEPS now LIVE, eligible retailers can access supported banking services through the NearPoint platform and add more value to their existing retail operations.

Instead of maintaining separate service channels for different requirements, retailers can use the NearPoint platform to manage the services available to their account.

This approach can help make everyday retail service operations simpler and more convenient.

Supporting the Digital Retail Ecosystem

The growth of assisted digital banking has created new opportunities for local retailers.

A retailer with access to financial services can become more than a traditional shop. It can become a convenient local service point where customers can access multiple digital and banking facilities.

NSDL Payments Bank AEPS on NearPoint supports this evolving retail model by bringing supported services closer to customers through eligible retailers.

NearPoint will continue focusing on services that can help retailers meet changing customer requirements and strengthen their digital service business.
